Best apps for your new Windows PC
On getting a new PC, the first task you’ll likely do is installing apps. Of course, there are dozens of amazing Windows programs, and we must know which software to install. In this post, I’ve put together a list of apps that should be installed on a windows PC.
1. Google Chrome
First on our list is Google chrome. The Google-owned browser is super-speedy and it includes some nice features like instantly searching Google for an image and a vast library. Also, the browserallows you to sync your desktop tabs on your phone and vice-versa. It’s a much-secured browser and it’s known for its persistent tracking feature.
One of Chrome’s biggest shortcoming is that it gulps a lot of RAM.
2. Google Drive
If you desire to use a cloud service, Google Drive should be your only option as it offers 15GB of free storage, which can be shared across your Google Photos and Gmail accounts.
Google Drive offers an app for every major platform, so you can take your files anywhere. On Windows, the app is now called Backup and Sync from Google, which allows you to back up folders on your computer and external devices, too. OneDrive is the default cloud service that comes built into Windows 10 PC.
Paint.NET is our first choice image editing program that should be installed on your PC. If you want to try out some image manipulation, (like blur sensitive info on screenshots, or retouch old photos), this image editing app is the best for you as It’s far more powerful than Microsoft Paint. It is also built with plenty of plugins which allows you to expand its functionality.
4. Windows Defender
Windows 10 includes Windows Defender, which is a good antivirus for most people. Unlike windows defender, other antivirus products track your activities and sell them. Windows defender won’t bug me about paying for an upgrade. I use windows 10 and I will gladly recommend windows defender as your anti-malware
If you need a solid video player on your desktop when you need to play media files locally, VLC is your best option.
Unlike other media players, the VLC Media Player is capable of playing nearly every video and audio format and has a bunch of additional features including the ability to add subtitles, sync audio, and video, and use any video as a live wallpaper
7-Zip is a file archiver with a high compression ratio and it is the standard file compression and extraction app. It installs in seconds and is easy to use. The only drawback of 7-Zip is its old appearance. However, you certainly don’t need to pay for using this compression tool.
Recuva is a freeware program that helps the user restore files that have been deleted from the computer. When you empty your recycle bin, your files are not completely destroyed. The deleted files which have been deleted from the recycle bin, as well as files that have been deleted due to bugs or viruses, can be retrieved using Recuva. Get this app downloaded to your P.C now
